13TH ANNUAL FOLK & URBAN ART FESTIVAL

This free all-day event at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center in west Winter Park celebrates community and cultural diversity, with visual art and activities. Spring is in the air; what better way to celebrate than joining us at the 13th Annual Hannibal Square Heritage Center Folk and Urban Art Festival! A one-day celebration where art, history and community intersect and create a multi-cultural collage. SAVE THE DATE - The festival will be held Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 from 10am-4pm. We have an exciting lineup of local artists, live music, children's activities, storytelling, and more!! The festival celebrates Central Florida’s richly diverse culture through artwork, educational entertainment and music, featuring the works of more than 25 folk and urban artisans. 2021 performances included "Ask a Griot" Storytelling with Don Laurin, an art workshop for children presented by Kiddies Carnival of Orlando creating carnival headpieces and armbands, following by a children’s parade, live percussion band Orlando Unity Rhythm Section, a performance by local bass player David Holder, and an empowerment performance by Singer/Songwriter Carlene Mitchell, dedicated to Black Men, Women, and Children in lieu of civil unrest, The Evolution of Hip Hop by Groovin' Nicki, and wheel throwing by Crealdé ceramist Belinda Glennon. A soul food truck offers delicious refreshments and ethnic food. Admission is free. |
